Stationary Shower Chair Uses
When it comes time for a caregiver to purchase a shower chair for someone in their care, the multitude of choices can be intimidating. Who thought that a shower chair purchase could be so confusing. Over the next few blogs, we will take time to break down the various shower chair types and the reasons for choosing one shower chair over another. Stationary Shower Chair: As the name implies, this describes the basic non-moving, set in place shower chair or shower bench. These types of shower chairs simply sit in the tub or shower area. The user must be able to enter the shower or tub on their own or with limited assistance and then safely sit down. The stationary shower chair works well for persons that cannot stand for any extended period of time. The stationary shower chair is also a viable alternative for someone that cannot lower themselves into their bath tub and thus use the shower chair to sit, then pull the shower curtain and then shower while sitting. Stationary shower chairs have a limited range of use but are a safe and inexpensive way to allow the user to continue to use their home shower or bath tub.
